About the Author
Robert G. Keel, B.A., LL.B., is a senior founding partner of Keel Cottrelle LLP, Barristers and Solicitors. He is qualified to practise law in both Ontario and New York State. Mr. Keel has appeared before all levels of the courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as numerous administrative tribunals. At present, his practice is primarily focused on education law, including First Nations governance issues. He has spoken at numerous conferences and has published more than 100 papers and articles. In addition, Mr. Keel is the President of Edu-Law Consulting Services Limited which provides conflict resolution programs for the education sector. Also, he is the Executive Editor of the Keel Cottrelle LLP Education Law Newsletter, Human Resources Newsletter and Public Sector Procurement Law Newsletter. He is the author of Student Rights and Responsibilities: Attendance and Discipline (1998), the co-author of An Educator's Guide to the Health and Safety of Students, An Educator's Guide to Managing Sexual Misconduct in Schools and An Educator's Guide to Parental Harassment (Canada Law Book).

Nadya Tymochenko, B.A., LL.B., LL.M., is a leader in education law at Miller Thomson, serving publicly funded school boards, private schools, and private colleges. She brings industry expertise and experience to a wide breadth of legal matters, including governance issues, human rights with respect to employees, students, and the complex area of intersecting and conflicting rights. She also advises on labour and employment issues, and acts for her clients in grievance arbitrations and matters before the Ontario Labour Relations Board. Nadya helps her education clients to address administrative law topics such as student discipline, special education, health and safety, and privacy, both informally and before tribunals.
